About Me
I never imagined I'd end up helping people reconnect with themselves through somatic work—but looking back, it makes perfect sense.
I spent over a decade in finance. On the outside, things looked stable and successful. But inside, I felt disconnected—from my work, from myself, and from any real sense of meaning.
That discomfort eventually led me to begin therapy and dive into my own personal healing. In the early days, it was practical and structured: weekly therapy sessions, yoga classes, meditation practices. I was trying to make sense of things and create space to feel again—without always knowing exactly what I was reaching for.
After leaving my job, I began volunteering and found myself drawn to spaces where people were simply being witnessed and supported. Over time, I got involved with a suicide prevention hotline, and that work—quiet, human, and often raw—affirmed something I’d been feeling for a while: that being present with others in their struggle felt deeply aligned with who I was.
Eventually, I became curious about how healing happens on a deeper, nervous system level. That exploration led me to Somatic Experiencing (SE) —first as a client, and later as a student and then started studying Integral Somatic Psychology (ISP). It wasn’t the beginning of my healing journey, and it’s not the whole story either—but it offered something unique. SE helped me listen to my body in a way that felt honest and non-invasive, and that felt important.
Today, I work with people who are navigating that same uncertain space—burnout, disconnection, transition, or just a quiet sense that something more is possible.

My Approach
My approach is slow, relational, and grounded in respect for each person’s pace. I’m not here to give advice or analyze. I’m here to hold space while your system finds its own rhythm.
Clients and peers often tell me I bring a calm presence. I don’t manufacture that—it’s just how I show up. And I’ve learned that presence, when it’s consistent and real, can be a powerful thing.
If that kind of space sounds like what you’re looking for, I’d love to connect.

"Somatic Experiencing with Rakan was truly a gift. His kind and gentle nature gave me the safety to explore my needs, impulses and connect with my inner strength. After 6 months together I feel more centred, resourced and unapologetic with my boundaries. I highly recommend this work."

"Rakan is hands down the best therapist I have ever seen. His skill with somatic modalities, listening, intuition, and empathic attunement are unmatched. I was a tough case with multiple traumas. He helped me get my life back, improve my emotional stability and rebuild my confidence."
